Couple Years of Protection

Couple years of protection (CYP) is the estimated protection provided by contraceptive methods during a one-year period, based upon the volume of all contraceptives sold or distributed free of charge to clients during that period. With SHOPS Plus support over the past two years, our partners have generated over 467,000 couple years of protection.

These numbers come from our work in Afghanistan, Senegal, Haiti, and Nigeria, with the first two countries representing a significant portion of the CYP.
