SHOPS Plus presentation
Mbogo Bunyi, senior private sector advisor for SHOPS Plus, gave a panel presentation on designing, adapting, and scaling new health insurance products using digital innovations. He discussed Jamii, a mobile-enabled health insurance program sponsored by Edgepoint in partnership with Jubilee Insurance and Vodacom, which targets low-income individuals in Tanzania. SHOPS Plus helped launch Jamii for people living with HIV through outreach to community-based HIV support groups. These efforts seek to raise awareness of the benefits of Jamii and encourage enrollment to help provide financial risk protection for health care, including for HIV care and treatment.
