About Anna Gerrard

Anna Gerrard is the social franchising advisor for the SHOPS Plus project. Gerrard provides strategic and technical assistance to over 20 country programs operating social franchises for healthcare service delivery, supporting over 11,000 clinics. She moved to Washington D.C. from the U.K. where she led the development of market-based approaches in eye health and specialized in understanding low-income consumer behavior. Gerrard has worked in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in several countries and speaks French, Dutch, German, and Japanese. She has a bachelor’s degree in law and language, an executive master's degree in international development, and a master's in business administration from the University of Liverpool.
