About George Oommen 

George Oommen  is the Director of TB Control and Care for the SHOPS Plus project in India. He is a public health specialist with 32 years of clinical and public health experience. He has designed, planned and managed health programs in the areas of tuberculosis, non-communicable diseases, family planning, child survival, geriatric and palliative care, and HIV/AIDS. Oommen has worked with national and international programs funded by bilateral, multilateral and private foundations. He holds a degree in medicine from Christian Medical College, Vellore, and a M.Phil. in Hospital and Health Systems Management from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani.
