About Ifeanyi Okekearu

Ifeanyi Okekearu is the Chief of Party for the SHOPS Plus project in Nigeria. Previously, he was at the Society for Family Health working as Chief of Party on the USAID Strengthening HIV Prevention Services for Most at Risk Persons project in Nigeria.  He has over 20 years of experience in public health, gender justice and development, human rights-based approach to development, sustainable environmental health programming, good and accountable governance programming, conflict resolution, and work with key populations and other vulnerable groups. He also has experience working with various stakeholders within the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in Nigeria and with international partners across many countries. Throughout his career in public health, Ifeanyi has managed large grants from USAID, DFID, the Dutch Embassy, and the private sector (Nigeria Bottling Coy and Shell). Ifeanyi holds a BSc in medical laboratory science from the University of Calabar, Nigeria; a MPH from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; and a MA in gender and development from Sussex University in the UK.
