Since SHOPS Plus launched the Feeling Plus condom in September 2017, Disprophar, a pharmaceutical product distributor based in Haiti, has distributed the product commercially. Malherbe Daniel, CEO of Disprophar, attested that SHOPS Plus was able to establish the brand in the community through communication for behavior change, availability, and marketing of the product.
Daniel went on to say that this partnership with SHOPS Plus has strengthened Disprophar’s capacity and has facilitated its discovery of the condom market, which requires a combination of behavior change communication and financial investment.
“Disprophar sees a future in the sale of Feeling Plus”, says Daniel. “The main priority is to continue to make the connection in consumers’ heads between condoms and the Feeling Plus brand.”
In terms of sustainability, Disprophar continues robust brand marketing. Within Disprophar, 2020 is already known as the year of Feeling Plus. According to Daniel, they are already seeing a future full of opportunities for the brand. They intend to sell one million Feeling Plus condoms during 2020.
“This partnership with SHOPS Plus was a great learning opportunity for Disprophar”, shared Daniel. “We have come to know the condom market, especially as it relates to the impact of free public sector. We also learned that condoms remain one of the most popular contraceptive methods for young people in Haiti and appreciate the importance of social marketing.”
